Akhirnya, nominasi Oscar ke-84 diumumkan hari ini, 24 Januari 2012, ada kejutan? sudah pasti, salah-satunya adalah jumlah nominasi untuk film terbaik, jika tahun lalu ada 10 film yang berkompetisi, tahun ini berkurang satu saja menjadi 9 film, diantaranya The Artist, The Descendants, The Help, Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life, War Horse, dan yang tidak disangka-sangka Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. Kejutan lain yang membuat saya tersenyum lebar, ada Gary Oldman nyempil di nominasi aktor terbaik untuk film “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”, yup sudah saatnya Oldman dilirik oleh pihak Academy. Kejutan yang paling menyedihkan adalah tidak hadirnya film Pixar di nominasi animasi terbaik seperti halnya tahun-tahun sebelumnya, well saya akui “Cars 2” memang kalah kuat tahun ini jika dibandingkan animasi-animasi lain, termasuk “Rango”, yang nampaknya akan mulus jalannya jadi yang terbaik.
Apakah “The Artist” yang memperoleh 10 nominasi Oscar tahun ini, kedua terbanyak setelah “Hugo” dengan 11 nominasi Oscar dan sudah memenangkan Golden Globe untuk best picture beberapa waktu yang lalu, akan menyabet titel film terbaik juga di Oscar ke-84 ini, mari kita tunggu pengumumannya pada tanggal 26 Februari 2012.
